Kate Egan grew up locally in Fernleigh and is dedicated to providing a warm and supportive professional environment for her patients.
Kate holds a Masters in Osteopathic Medicine and a Bachelor of Clinical Sciences from Southern Cross University. She graduated in 2012 and has since been practising osteopathy on the Gold Coast, Byron Bay and Bangalow, along with teaching osteopathic technique at SCU.
Kate’s interest in health and the human body stemmed from Kate’s many years of work in remedial massage. She is passionate about osteopathy and the continual learning that the profession provides. Kate has undertaken several post-graduate courses, including myofascial anatomy, women’s health, paediatrics, osteopathy in the cranial field, and clinical diagnosis. This has enhanced Kate’s well-rounded approach to treatment and patient care. She has also worked in India in an osteopathic team alongside orthopaedic surgeons, introducing osteopathy to athletes and the general public in a hospital setting.
Kate enjoys treating people of all ages and tailors her treatment style to each individual’s treatment preference and presenting complaint. She utilises a broad range of osteopathic techniques from more direct or stronger techniques such as soft tissue massage, myofascial release, spinal manipulation; to the indirect methods of unwinding and osteopathy in the cranial field (craniosacral).
Kate is available on Mondays, Thursdays and Fridays.
